This two-storey house was designed to reflect the owners' desire for apartment-style living with space to accommodate visiting family and friends on the ground floor. From the street, the sheets of metallic cladding separated by negative detailing, give the home a broadly horizontal, cubist look, its sleek lines contrasting with feature walls of chunky stone below the balcony and alongside the driveway. Inside, the home combines contemporary elegance with generously proportioned, functional living spaces, in a layout that will accommodate the future needs of its owners in comfort and style.
Situated on the waterfront with 270 degree views to the river and city this home has been designed to take full account its location and of course the views whilst ensuring privacy and security for the occupants. A large pivot door, an ingredient of each Signature Custom Home, opens on to a foyer where a picture window overlooks a tranquil water feature. To the right, a cavity sliding door opens on to the ground floor lounge, a spacious light filled room with its own kitchenette that overlooks the river as well as the pools and covered alfresco entertaining area.
This home is best characterised as a modern, resort style mansion. Built on a 2000m2 site, there are 3 storeys of absolute luxury spread over 1100m2 of living space. As you enter the home through the covered port couture and pivot entry door, you are greeted by a formal living and dining space with towering 2 storey high ceilings and glass windows on your right. On your left is a private office. Moving down the hall towards the rear of the home you pass the upper level garage, laundry room, drop zone, and a craft offi ce before you enter the huge informal living space featuring an amazing kitchen with Wolf and Sub Zero appliances and a huge butlers pantry with additional cold storage and food preparation facilities.
The home has been zoned to provide a complete luxury apartment feel with a hotel suite for a bedroom and luxurious living space for entertaining with additional zones where the occupants can escape to enjoy their own time by themselves. These include the Home Theatre, a wine cellar/bar and the upper living area and balcony. The home has magnificent ocean views and a 6 star energy rating so you can enjoy amazing sunsets in a comfortable luxurious environment.
A classic roof line which we have tweaked by using our “Signature” gutter profile and Trimdek roof combination to give the home a contemporary style. Close to the river this site is 12.5m wide at the front and only 8 metres at the rear. We have once again utilised a side entrance to enable a balanced elevation and included a gatehouse to define the entrance. The home is long and narrow yet there are virtually no internal passages and it features contemporary polished floors and neutral colours mixed with the starkness of the dark timber cabinets and white walls and ceilings.
This home presented many challenges with only a 10m frontage and a fall from front to rear of over 3 metres. The result is a contemporary style which utilises the fall on the site exceptionally well. The exterior features stone and timber as well to give the home a warmth and earthy palete which is timeless. The interior of the home is modern yet functional with the main living areas oriented to the rear on the mid level and the bedrooms all on the upper level of the home. The garages have been position at the rear lower level which has allowed us to create a stylish and balanced elevation and to maximise the size of the home.
This home was completed in 2006 and still it remains an iconic and enduring design. Situated a stones throw from the river this home is designed to suit a 10m wide lot with 3 levels of spacious living. It features a gatehouse to define the entrance which is on the side of house. This has allowed us to position the front balcony and main living to the front to capture the north light and to give balance to the elevation which is a difficult assignment on a 10m wide site. The home features neutral colours and natural timbers and stone which all contribute to the timeless look.
The brief for this home was to produce a design that maximised the sensational views whilst at the same time minimising the impact of the road at the front. It had to be timeless yet luxurious but not oppulent. This has been spectacularly achieved through the clever arrangement of living spaces and the use of natural stones and timbers which give the visitor the feeling that it has been there forever. It features the usual array of modern conveniences and luxurious decor items and the functionality of a contemporary family home.
This very contemporary 3 storey home is designed to cater for a young family’s needs now and into the future. The home, which is completely automated, features finishes including natural stone flooring throughout, solid stone benchtops, stone hearths in the two internal fireplaces, custom designed and built feature timber cavity sliding doors with a huge ‘Signature’ pivot front door, feature book leaf stone to the entrance and alfresco areas and much more. The home has been designed to be energy efficient with a north south orientation and with north facing glazing to the living areas.
